VICKY WONG
Project Manager & Arts Specialist
M.A. in Southeast Asian Studies (NUS)
Grad Dip in Migration Law (ANU)
Vicky joined Mayvin Global in 2023, bringing her skills in project management and her experience in the galleries, libraries, archives, and museums (GLAM) sector to the team.
Vicky has drawn on her skills contributing to Mayvin Global projects and working with organisations such as the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Foundation, to deliver their Tourism Action Plan and Sponsorship Strategy. She has also worked with the Northern Territory Thailand Association to develop and revise their 3 year Strategic Plan and equip Northern Territory finalists for the final interview stage of the Australian Training Awards (ATA).
Originally, hailing from the hot and sunny island of Singapore, Vicky was a curator and manager for the public and education programs at the National Museum of Singapore before she moved to Sydney. There, she was instrumental in the delivery of Children's Season, an annual festival that attracted more than half a million visitors within two months amongst other key exhibitions and partnership programs.
Since then, she has worked at the Australian National Maritime Museum where she met Deanna Varga and also worked with Dr Lynda Kelly. Vicky held pivotal roles including Project Manager of the new waterfront attraction Action Stations launched as well as Team Leader overseeing front-of-house and visitor services. Analyses of revenue and international and domestic visitor trends were critical elements of her roles as well as the overarching visitor experience.
A self-professed art lover, she also took time off to raise her young family and spent three years in Thailand where she founded and sold a kids education business The UP Brainery. She paints, writes and self-publishes children's books in her free time while juggling homeschooling her two young kids.
