THE BRIEF

The Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade (DITT) engaged Mayvin Global to develop a sponsorship assessment tool. The objective was to assist DITT to consolidate and provide clear guidelines for the Northern Territory Government (NTG) to review, assess and determine criteria for accepting or declining  sponsorship requests.

As sponsorship requests are across multiple divisions of the department and other NT Government departments, a centralised tool was needed that would be simple to understand and clearly show the value of the sponsorship request as well as commitment by the NTG if they proceeded.

OUTCOME

​

• A user-friendly framework (tool) that supports the DITT team in assessing incoming sponsorship requests. The framework identifies benefits commensurate with the sponsorship request and enables DITT to clearly articulate to applicants where their request can be enhanced.

• Testing and workshops with the DITT team ensured buy-in from internal stakeholders.

• The Framework was developed in early 2022 and continues to be used today (late 2023).

• The Framework has significantly increased internal efficiency by streamlining processes across the department. A flow on effect has been saved government funds through improved alignment of sponsorships request and commercial value to the Territory.
