Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority
This reference is to confirm that Deanna Varga was engaged as a consultant by Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority in February 2013 to prepare a financial feasibility assessment of opening parts of White Bay Power Station site for temporary uses.
The assessment involved conducting a market review of comparable venues and spaces in order to recommend the types of temporary uses best suited to three temporary venues on the site, supported by a financial assessment of the potential income that would be generated. The heritage status of the site added an additional layer of complexity to the brief as well as the imminent construction of temporary exhibition facilities at the adjoining site of Glebe Island.
Deanna produced a high quality report that reflected her detailed methodology, extensive stakeholder consultation and addressed the Authority’s requirements. She was quick to pick up specific nuances of the project including heritage restraints, the different drivers between government and privately owned venues, and the overall political context of the project with regards to the business events sector.
With her broad and extensive experience in the tourism and business events sectors, Deanna is a valuable resource. I highly recommend her and would have no hesitation in using her services again for a suitable project.
